Pets, Peta and a pair of lovebirds
From: NewsTrove.com

"Lets talk about ethics, pets and our right to keep one, says Marianne de Nazareth Over ten years ago we bought three pairs of love birds from the pet market which flourished in Russel Market and they happily multiplied into ten birds. My sons were little and a terrible handful and these birds kept them amused with their antics. PETA, the organisation Then the organisation PETA - People for Ethical Treatment of Animals came into being and we grew guilty over our clutch of love birds."

Cards Brush Up Bird
From: NewsTrove.com

"The Cardinal head that has served as the team's logo since 1960 -- when the franchise moved from Chicago to St. Louis -- has been subtly transformed into a sleeker, meaner creature. The updated version was unveiled with great fanfare at Cardinals headquarters on Thursday. "A tough bird," team owner Bill Bidwill said. "Hopefully it will be worn by tougher and faster and meaner players." Yet to come is what Cardinals vice president Michael Bidwill called "a revolutionary" change in the team's uniforms, to be shown this spring. The old Cardinal logo was a roundhead bird derisively referred to as a "parakeet."

Coughing budgie
From: www.livejournal.com

"Our newest budgie Vladimir (I just got back from Russia so hence the name) seems to be coughing a lot lately. It's pretty brief but it is more than I like to hear. As far as I can tell he isn't have any trouble breathing at all. He's also extremely active and bouncy all over the place and eating fine. I've had budgies do this before but I can't help but worry anyways. I don't think he's cold because they are by a heater.

Any suggestions? Or should I take him to the vet (the only reason why I haven't done this already is I can't afford to take him and hear, "Oh he's fine you worry too much") but I will if it gets worse."
