Parakeet News from Yahoo.com
Ironic Times - Page Three, July 12, 2004
From: NewsTrove.com
"As usual, the networks experiment with new fare during the summer, when many people are away. Here are some of the shows you'll probably miss:
"Pet Swap" (ABC):
Applying the spouse-swapping concept to pets works just fine when a parakeet is traded for a python, but when a Pomeranian named Eugene changes places with a Chihuahua named Pepe, time grinds to a halt.
"Celebrity Stoolie"
(CBS): If you're a B-list celebrity and your agent calls with an offer from this latest exercise in public humiliation, hang up."
ABSTRACTS OF PAPERS
From: NewsTrove.com
"Since the end of the year 2000, Israeli poultry farms have been suffering from
H9N2 Israeli avian influenza virus, which has a very strong economic impact.
Today the disease is considered endemic to Israeli poultry farms. The first
isolates were obtained from turkey meat type flocks, from which the disease
passed on to breeding turkeys, then to broilers and heavy breeders, and finally
to laying chickens. It seems that the virus is adapted to infecting several
species, including ostrich, which implies that the host range has changed
between the year 2000 and the present."

"The glass-blue days are those
when every color glows,
each shape and shadow shows.
- Gerard Manley Hopkins
At least six cats called; dogs barked by every tree;
iguanas, goats, lizards in a cage,
spavined horse, then the pot-bellied pig
sniffed our shoes as we hung
from the pasture fence,
and the parakeet flew
room to room, our accompaniment
in the blue house. The smell rose
from plaster walls, from the dirt basement
where bees simmered in a nest, from the dark hole
of the kitchen sink, from the mud room.
It's that pee smell, the realtor said,
but she was wrong."

From: us.rd.yahoo.com
"THEY settled in suburbia and have certainly ruffled a few feathers among their neighbours. A pair of exotic parrots with pale green plumage are the newest recruits to a campaign set up to oppose the return of trams to Edinburgh after an absence of almost half a century."
Commentary: You can take these New Year's predictions to the bank (1/3/2005) (Seattle Post-Intelligencer)
From: us.rd.yahoo.com
"What follows are common-sense predictions for 2005, based on mathematical probabilities and Murphy's Law rather than on the spouting of some fortuneteller."

"My two Budgies don't seem to like Fruit or Vegetables, i'm not sure how to get them to try other foods other than the seeds; does anyone have any advice on what I could do?"
More pics!
From: www.livejournal.com
"So, about a week ago? I posted pics, and a few of you requested more. So here they are! And I just took them yesterday. (:
There's a LOT so beware!
Emmy's like, "What on EARTH do you think you're doing?!"

Emmy, standing proudly on her perch, showing off the beautiful mess they've made on my floor. :P

Emmy eats some of what they've thrown on the floor.. And Oscar comes running to the rescue!!!

Oscar eating.. xD "Mmm.. millet..."

This was just before he threw it at me. xDD Silly guy.

Who wants a nice fresh plate of Emmy?!!

Yeah.. Sorry these are all of them eating.. xDD I put these plastic piggies over with them to see what they'd do. Haha. Oscar didn't seem to mind.. But Em wasn't sure about them.

After defeating the red piggie, Oscar moves on to taste the pink piggie's butt. xDD

Emmy riding the doggie!!

Hangin' out by my loads of books and magazines.

She's so cute chillin' on my bed!!!

My oldddd dog, Rio, and Emmy. Rio is incredibly afraid of my birds. They are THE scarriest thing EVER. Emmy LOVES Rio though. She always flys onto her back, and climbs up onto her head. xD And Rio just sits there like, "Oh god. Please get it off. It could KILL me at any moment!!!!" Sorry it's fuzzy..

Emmy on my pink tube thing..

That's it for now. (: Again, I've got more!!
Enjoy!
X-Posted to my journal."
Name
From: www.livejournal.com
"Hey everyone, our new little guy is either Buckbeak(beaky) or Animal. We aren't too sure of his personality yet; thats probably going to be the deciding factor. Speaking of Personality... Our birdie Doyle (aka The Doh Doh Bird) is the oldest. He looves to sing and dance and (much to our dismay) take baths in his water cup.Today my mom was giving the birds fresh food and Doyle, Mystic, and Bo all flew out. This happens all the time,(especially with these three, it used to be a love tiangle) one bird will come out, few others follow. My mom didnt think anything of it. So after she was done she took Mystic and Bo and put them in, then looked for Doyle, figuring he was sitting with my dad. No Doyle. After searching around for awhile she got really worried and woke me up. So here we are, calling him, figuring he'll fly out any minute. No Doyle. I start panicking, and im in our living room looking around, and i look, and in our window, with all the weird figurines and christmas decorations, is Doyle, sitting all fluffy and looking our the window, not a care in the world. He just gives me this look, and i go, "You Doh Doh Bird. You could have squeaked." So naturally he chose that moment to finally say something. Those Budgies. I think they wait until we get all worked up, then look all cute so we cant possible get upset with those little fluffballs:)"
